As the Director, Engineering and Maintenance, you will be responsible for providing oversight and guidance to a dedicated team of managers.

Your primary focus will be on the installation and maintenance of process and utility equipment essential for supporting BioVectra’s operational plans. This role demands a high level of technical acumen and leadership to ensure the seamless and efficient operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide leadership in plant and maintenance reliability, aiming to minimize downtime and optimize overall plant performance.
  2. Orchestrate collaboration between staff, students, and departments to ensure the efficient execution of engineering and maintenance tasks.
  3. Deliver regular and accurate progress reports to the General Manager, including evaluations of project progress, budget status, deliverables, and timelines.
  4. Identify potential project risks and implement corrective actions as needed to ensure project objectives are achieved.
  5. Maintain and enhance client relationships, representing the maintenance and engineering departments to drive continuous improvements for best-in-class performance.
  6. Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) through documentation, change controls, and training within the department.
  7. Represent the maintenance and engineering departments during regulatory and client audits to instill confidence in the team's robustness.
  8. Foster a culture of teamwork and performance, focusing on client and stakeholder satisfaction.
  9. Provide leadership, development, and performance management to the maintenance and engineering staff.
  10. Generate, maintain, and report on unit performance metrics, driving efficiency and improvements.
  11. Be accountable for financial and human resource budgeting for the unit, including planning, operating small capital projects, and monitoring performance against budgets.
Requirements
  1. Hold a professional engineering degree (P.Eng) and have at least seven years of experience in engineering and/or maintenance, preferably within the pharmaceutical, cosmetics, or consumer products industries.
  2. Have a minimum of five years in a leadership role.
  3. Demonstrate strong leadership, organizational, and people management skills.
  4. Ability to work under tight project timelines and manage complex projects.
  5. Previous experience managing a Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) is preferred but not required.
  6. Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is preferred.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project is required, with knowledge of Smartsheet and AutoCAD being a plus.
