Fort Garry Industries has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Supply Chain to join our team at our Corporate Office in Winnipeg.

Reporting to the President, this role is a key strategist and leader overseeing FGI's entire supply chain. They are responsible for ensuring the supply chain is efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with the business’s objective to maximize sales and profitability. The role involves strategic planning, managing logistics, optimizing processes, and leading teams to achieve business goals and customer satisfaction.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead the strategic planning and execution of global supply chain activities.
  • Oversee purchasing, inventory management, and demand forecasting.
  • Manage a team effectively to meet the departmental goal.
  • Provide strategic guidance to supplier selection, negotiations, relationships, and performance.
  • Collaborate with sales, category management, and marketing teams to understand promotional activities and their impact on demand.
  • Regularly review and adjust forecasts based on real-time sales data and market changes.
  • Identify potential supply chain disruptions and develop contingency plans.
  • Communicate forecast and inventory estimations to management and key stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement product assortment plans that align with overall portfolio strategy, business goals and market trends.
  • Develop and implement tactical plans to facilitate product lifecycle changes, such as the introduction of new products and the phasing out of underperforming ones. Analyze and determine the inventory investment required to ensure a high level of customer service.
  • Other duties as assigned

What We Require:

  • Advanced degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or related field.
  • 5+ years of working experience in a senior supply chain role.
  • Proficiency in handling and optimizing international logistics, including import/export regulations.
  • Skilled in using data to forecast trends, assess performance, and make informed decisions.
  • Continuous optimization of the supply chain process to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Expertise in enterprise resource planning (ERP) and information technology (IT) systems relevant to supply chain operations.
  • Excellent Customer Service skills – dedicated to exceeding expectations of internal and external customers.
  • Strong written and verbal skills – ability to write and speak succinctly with customers and colleagues.
  • Excellent data and Excel skills.
  • Heavy duty parts knowledge or background an asset
