Job Summary

Fort Garry Industries is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Supply Chain to lead our global supply chain activities. This key role is responsible for ensuring the supply chain is efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with the company's objective to maximize sales and profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute global supply chain strategies to drive business growth and profitability.
  • Logistics Management: Oversee purchasing, inventory management, and demand forecasting to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
  • Team Leadership: Manage a team of logistics professionals to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  • Supplier Management: Provide strategic guidance on supplier selection, negotiations, relationships, and performance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with sales, category management, and marketing teams to understand promotional activities and their impact on demand.
  • Forecasting: Regularly review and adjust forecasts based on real-time sales data and market changes.
  • Disruption Management: Identify potential supply chain disruptions and develop contingency plans to mitigate risks.
  • Communication: Communicate forecast and inventory estimations to management and key stakeholders.
  • Product Assortment: Develop and implement product assortment plans that align with overall portfolio strategy, business goals, and market trends.
  • Inventory Management: Analyze and determine the inventory investment required to ensure a high level of customer service.
Requirements
  • Education: Advanced degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of working experience in a senior supply chain role.
  • Skills: Proficiency in handling and optimizing international logistics, including import/export regulations. Skilled in using data to forecast trends, assess performance, and make informed decisions.
  • Expertise: Continuous optimization of the supply chain process to increase efficiency and reduce costs. Expertise in enterprise resource planning (ERP) and information technology (IT) systems relevant to supply chain operations.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent customer service skills, strong written and verbal skills, and excellent data and Excel skills.
