Southbridge Care Homes are currently looking to add a caring, passionate, and enthusiastic Unregulated Care Provider at our London, ON location to our amazing home family, who can serve our lovely residents, to keep them safe, healthy, and happy.

On a daily basis, our Unregulated Care Provider will enhance the effective medical administration, Stakeholders Management and Risk Management factors to maintain exceptional quality of practice in keeping with the standards and expectations set out by governing bodies and internal policies and standards of care.

As an Unregulated Care Provider, you will be accountable for:

  • Providing excellent service in terms of medication to our residents by coordinating with various stakeholders including physicians and pharmacists, ensuring a safe organized environment.
  • Assisting with document management, and ensuring treatments are going on as per Medication Administration Record (MAR).
  • Ensuring successful completion of the initial and annual medication administration training and sign off by the director of care.
  • Troubleshooting and solving any problems related to the home or resident by collaborating with the resident service manager.
  • Checking stocks of all the drugs, ordering new required stocks, making data entry and storing all the narcotics keys in a safe place.
  • Assisting with emergency procedures of the home, Enrollment – Discharge process of the residents and checking all the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety procedures.
  • Other duties as required.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Appropriate Degree or Diploma related to Occupational Health and Safety, Public Health, or relevant studies. (PSW Certificate Preferred)
  • One year or more experience working as a Unregulated Care Provider in a Long-term care home or Hospital Setting would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team, to prioritize tasks in order of urgency.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and comprehension skills.
  • Developed creative problem-solving skills to look at the “big picture”.
  • Must be physically strong and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred but not mandatory.
