The Marina Dockside Eatery Supervisor supports the Assistant Manager and General Manager in day-to-day operations of the Eatery, including scheduling, maintaining service and quality standards. This position will demonstrate and reinforce our ‘Yes I Can’ service standards and Core Values, while providing hands-on crew training and support to promote sales, maintain supplies and ordering, as well as the safety and maintenance in accordance with regulatory and Health & Safety standards. ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Works directly with the Eatery Assistant Manager and supports the Marina Dockside Eatery sales and operational efficiencies to maximize revenues, EBITDA and customer satisfaction.
  2. Supporting the day-to-day scheduling to ensure the appropriate amount of crew are working and creating exceptional guest experiences.
  3. Creates and maintains a positive attitude of service, teamwork and cooperation in support of the “Yes I Can” philosophy and OBMG’s Core Values.
  4. Maintains food and beverage quality, service, dress code and cleanliness to a level consistent with Oak Bay Marine Group standards.
  5. Provides a consistent presence within the café, leading by example, including Barista duties and working shoulder-to-shoulder with the crew to become familiar with regular guests and members of the community, and to coach, teach and train the Eatery Crew.
  6. Promotes up-selling and guest enhancement service opportunities; positively responds to customer feedback and complaints.
  7. Ensures the Marina Dockside Eatery building and equipment are maintained for safety and operational requirements, communicates problems to the Eatery Assistant Manager and follows up on the completion of all repair and maintenance projects.
  8. Working with the Assistant Manager to coordinate orders from multiple vendors, checking them for accuracy upon arrival and signing for them.
  9. Supports new-hire orientation, one-on-one and crew training sessions and meetings to ensure consistent feedback, training and development for employees following Oak Bay Marine Group HR practices.
  10. Attends and actively participates in crew meetings.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Technical Skills:

  1. Two years’ experience working in coffee house, restaurant or hotel management or a similar environment.
  2. Food safe Level 1 & Level 2 and Serving it Right certification required.
  3. Supervisory experience successfully leading a dynamic and service-oriented team an asset.
  4. Kitchen management and/or baking experience is an asset.
  5. Squirrel or similar POS proficiency required.
  6. Strong working knowledge of “Word” and “Excel”.
  7. Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills.
  8. Flexible availability, including evenings, early mornings and weekends required.
  9. Occupational First Aid as asset.
Physical Requirements:
  1. The ability to stand for extended periods.
  2. The ability to work long hours.
  3. The ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
