Job Summary:
The Scheduler/Inventory Controller maintains the production schedules and oversees all inventory control functions with respect to job inventory picks, job issuing, and assisting production department planning for all items manufactured or to be manufactured. This is done in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) requirements, while taking into consideration the company’s commitment to our seven Core Values such as sustainability in the planning and implementation of all actions related to the area of responsibility.

Job Description & Duties:

  • Prioritize daily tasks and communicate effectively to support production and prevent production delays.
  • Receive orders from the planning department and schedule them based on material availability, equipment availability, due dates, and maintaining efficiency throughout the production process.
  • Maintain production schedules, while ensuring accuracy of raw material quantities and lot numbers. Communicate updates in real time with everyone affected.
  • Create job inventory picks and production schedules for warehouse material handlers to locate and stage materials needed for production.
  • Coordinate with local and other site’s planning and warehouse teams for raw materials or packaging components as needed.
  • Complete the labor posting and job closers in the ERP system.
  • Run reports from Syspro to ensure accuracy of inventory levels and bin locations. Investigate variances and make adjustments or escalate as needed.
  • Coordinate and conduct cycle counts as needed and maintain corresponding documentation.
  • Follow and adhere to all given instructions including work procedures, SOPs, and cGMP.
  • Strictly adhere to and observe all safety policies as outlined in the company policies and training sessions.
  • Support other inventory and warehouse staff as needed.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment and team atmosphere.
  • Assume responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
  • Report all quality issues to department leadership.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Technical
  • Intermediate level Excel skills are required.
  • Syspro experience is an asset.
  • Basic Outlook skills are required.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Work Procedures (WP’s) and SOPs of warehouse operations and inventory management.
  • Working knowledge of GMP regulations and how they apply to warehouse and inventory functions.
