The Body Shop Manager will be responsible for running an efficient and profitable body shop through productive staffing, customer retention, cost controls, achievement of objectives and maintenance of all body shop equipment, processes and service records.
Responsibilities- Assess, build, mentor, and foster individuals to form a strong and motivated team.
- Manage the Body Shop Technicians and the Body Shop Administrator.
- Hiring, training, motivating, counseling and monitoring the performance of all body shop staff.
- Ensure that all customers are greeted promptly and given fair estimates on costs and time required for painting and repairs.
- Forecast goals and objectives for the department and strive to meet or exceed them.
- Monitor and control the performance and profitability of the department.
- Prepare and administer an annual operating budget for the body shop.
- Develop and implement a marketing plan which promotes new and repeat business.
- Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, provincial, and local regulations that affect body shop operations.
- Understand and ensure compliance with manufacturer warranty and policy procedures.
- Maintain high-quality body shop repairs/painting and minimize/eliminate comebacks. Conduct documented periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality.
- Create, establish and maintain a documented 24-hour follow-up with all customers to confirm satisfaction with the body shop service experience and share results with team members.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
- Minimum 3 years of management experience; Collision and Body Shop experience considered an asset.
