YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AS A COMMERCIAL LINES UNDERWRITER:
*Underwrite new business, renewals, and endorsements.
*Evaluate new and renewal submissions to determine appropriate coverage and pricing.
*Conduct thorough research on new business accounts to inform evaluations and policy pricing.
*Build and maintain strong relationships with local brokers and clients.
*Continuously improve and update commercial underwriting processes, policies, and guidelines.
*Perform broker visits to strengthen relationships and support business development.
*Assist with audits to ensure compliance and accuracy in underwriting practices.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR IN A COMMERCIAL LINES UNDERWRITER:
*3 to 5 years of commercial underwriting experience
*Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) or Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) designation is preferred
*Career-driven with a focus on personal and professional growth
*Proficiency in Excel is an asset
*A collaborative team player with an outgoing personality
