You will play a key role in performing and managing building science investigations, designing effective remediation strategies, conducting on-site inspections, and delivering comprehensive reporting services. As part of the rapidly growing Building Science service line, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with your team mates across Canada.

What you will be doing at Pinchin
  1. Lead and manage building science projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to budgets, and exceeding client expectations.
  2. Conduct thorough on-site inspections to assess building envelope conditions, identify issues, and formulate appropriate remediation strategies.
  3. Undertake field review of in-situ construction.
  4. Prepare detailed, clear, and comprehensive technical reports highlighting findings, assessments, and recommendations.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to leverage expertise in building science, engineering, and real estate to deliver holistic solutions to clients.
  6. Provide senior reviewer support for our asset management services, including property condition assessments, reserve fund studies, and due diligence assessments for real estate transactions.
  7. Cultivate strong client relationships, understand their needs, and tailor solutions that align with their goals.
  8. Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in building science and real estate transactions.
  9. Demonstrate leadership by effectively leading project teams when required, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
  10. Solve complex building science challenges, proactively leveraging technical knowledge and innovative thinking.
  11. Assist with new business development and represent Pinchin with professionalism and expertise in client interactions, industry events, and conferences.
  12. Assist with providing coaching and mentorship of technical staff.
What You'll Need:
  1. Professional Engineer designation.
  2. Proven experience (5+ years) in building science project management/engineering, including on-site inspections and reporting services.
  3. Strong technical writing skills with the ability to create clear, concise, and impactful reports.
  4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain client relationships.
  5. Relevant certifications in building science, project management, or related fields are a plus.
  6. Proficiency in industry-specific software/tools and thorough knowledge of building science concepts.
  7. Proactive problem-solving skills and ability to lead teams effectively.
  8. Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  9. Commitment to staying current with industry developments and continuous professional development.
  10. A valid driver’s license, insurance and access to your own personal vehicle required (work-related travel will be compensated).
