Summary

As Director, GCA Strategy and Operations you will help to drive & shape the high-performance culture of the GCA team, delivering the GCA strategy by enhancing engagement, building the right capabilities and driving operational effectiveness & efficiency.

You will lead a varied range of strategic programmes, working across the GCA network comprising global, regional and market Corporate Affairs teams. This will include supervising progress & implementation of the strategy, leading the planning and delivery of strategic engagements with the leadership team such as townhalls, key updates & announcements. You will also support internal and external communications led by the SVP, GCA, positioning GCA as a strategic function and leading employer brand for Corporate Affairs talent globally. You will also play an important role in the shaping and delivery of the function’s People Agenda, ensuring the right capabilities and behavioural changes required to shape a positive culture are pulled through.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead the planning and delivery of various programmes to drive the effective delivery of the GCA strategy.
  2. Work closely with the Global Corporate Affairs Leadership Team to drive understanding of GCA’s strategy across the network and embed operational effectiveness across the organisation.
  3. Partner with global, regional and market teams to drive collaboration, best practice sharing and lessons.
  4. Manage regular results and including ongoing quarterly performance updates, key announcements and updates, townhalls, monthly GCA updates to the CEO and flagship programmes such as annual functional awards.
  5. Handle external agencies to support effective execution of communication activities as required. Manage quality and compliance of work.
Knowledge and Experience
  1. Proven experience working in a fast-paced global in-house or agency communications team.
  2. Experience in working with cross-functional teams or on projects.
  3. Significant experience of managing different partner relationships and confident at managing up.
  4. Demonstrable experience of working with others to foster positive, results-oriented cultures.
  5. Experience of working in pharma/other highly regulated sector is desirable.

  1. Excellent written and verbal communications skills, backed by strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize large amounts of complex data and extract actionable insights.
