Your new company

This organization is an industry leader within the utility sector. We are seeking a senior accountant immediately for a 3-6 month, full-time contract with the potential to extend. You will be working 8 hours per day, Monday-Friday. There is also flexibility to work on a hybrid basis.


Your new role

You will primarily be responsible for performing accounting and analytical review functions in the areas of financial reporting.

  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and related analysis
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis functions of the monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statements and management reporting requirements
  • Liaise with external auditors in completing audit requests
  • Assist in the design, review, and evaluation of internal controls
  • Administer and perform control over the financial reporting processes
  • Research and prepare variance analysis and explanations by analyzing past results, identifying trends, and key drivers of business
  • Increase productivity by developing or improving automated reporting tools/ models


What you'll need to succeed

  • Degree with a major in Accounting or Finance plus 3+ years of related accounting experience
  • Professional Accounting designation (CPA) or similar designation is required
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and procedures for US GAAP
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Due to the urgent hiring need for this role, you will be able to start working immediately**


What you'll get in return

In return for your skills and expertise, there is a competitive hourly pay. You will work full-time hours, Monday-Friday. This is a 3-month contract with the potential to extend. You’ll be joining a fantastic group where your skills will be valued. You will also have the opportunity to work remotely 2 times per week.
