Key Responsibilities:



Manage the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for accurate accounting of consolidated business results in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).


Oversee the monthly consolidation process using the company’s consolidation and reporting system.


Assist in the preparation of internal and external financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards, procedures, and internal controls.


Implement and maintain consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures.


Oversee the review and completion of quarterly and annual financial reporting packages from site teams, providing assistance and advice to site teams as needed.


Support internal controls and coordinate external audit activities to ensure timely completion.


Develop and document internal controls to maximize protection of company assets.


Take a leading role in the next phase of the new ERP implementation to meet expanded reporting requirements.


Evaluate current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes.


Responsible for regulatory reporting, frequently and compliance for NRCAN, Stats Can report, Sustainability, etc;


Perform standard and ad hoc financial analyses to support management decision-making.




Qualifications



University degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related fields.


Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Certification


2-5 years post designation experience.


Fluent in English, spanish or frech is considered an asset.


Experience at a publicly listed company considered an asset


Experience in mining, oil & gas, or manufacturing.


Proficient in MS Office Suite, ERP System (SAP/SAGE), Consolidation and Reporting Systems


Advanced Excel skills.


Experience with PowerBI considered an asset


Strong understanding of IFRS accounting principles and practices.
