Responsibilities:

  • Develop and coordinate plant and equipment layout improvements, process improvements, die changes, and first-off improvements.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining standard costs for all products.
  • Co-ordinate and follow up on the smooth introduction of new products to the company and assist in selecting appropriate suppliers for subcontracted operations.
  • Co-ordinate the proper timing of ECNs to minimize obsolete stock and ensure production at the required engineering level.
  • Maintain a daily presence on the production floor. Provide engineering support to assembly in the areas of ergonomic evaluations, methods improvement, the procurement and fabrication of equipment, and safety.
  • Ensure the accuracy of manufacturing bills of materials for all products (i.e. parent component relationship, part numbers, and quantity per, at a 98% accuracy level).
  • Ensure the accuracy of the part numbering system.
  • Participate in the engineering change process by designing and updating Process Failure Mode Effects Analyses as needed.
  • Review all operator instructions and ensure the readiness of assembly equipment, packaging requirements, and completion of all manufacturing engineering tasks.
  • Research, investigate, and report manufacturing concerns for improvement of overall plant productivity.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree may be preferred for senior roles.
  • Proven experience as a Process Engineer in the automotive industry, with a strong understanding of automotive manufacturing processes and technologies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present technical information to stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
