The successful candidate will oversee the planning, implementation, and tracking of long-term care redevelopment and Capex projects. The successful candidate must possess the knowledge, experience, and confidence to engage and professionally interact with design professionals and consultants, while successfully directing construction-related personnel in planning, coordinating, and safely executing work in accordance with contract documents, schedule, and budget. The successful candidate must be professional and a personable leader, dedicated to bringing in projects on time and on budget.
As Project Manager, you’ll work as a team member, managing multiple projects at various stages of development. Opportunities will include managing all aspects of Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, municipal, and code approvals. You will also manage schedules, budgets, design, drawings, and specifications for each project.
ResponsibilitiesThe Project Manager performs a wide range of duties including but not limited to the following:
- Define the scope of the project in collaboration with the Vice President of Development.
- Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project.
- Determine resources required to complete the project.
- Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates resources to activities.
- Review project schedule with senior management and all other staff that will be affected by the project activities; revise the schedule as required.
- Determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion.
- Work with internal team and hired designers/consultants to establish initial design, specification accuracy, drawing, and tender accuracy.
- Assess and contract qualified consultants and engineers to work on the project as appropriate.
- Execute the project according to the project plan.
- Monitor the progress of the project and adjust as necessary to ensure successful completion on time and on budget.
- Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets Southbridge standards.
- Write reports on the project for management.
- Monitor and approve all budgeted project expenditures.
- Manage all project funds according to established accounting policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all financial records for the project are up to date.
- Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget, and at the required level of quality.
- Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase.
- Knowledge of project management methodology and tools.
- Proficiency in the use of software for scheduling, budgeting, MS Office.
