Why Work For Us:

Stuart Olson is searching for a Journeyperson Instrumentation Technician to join us for Turnaround work at a client location in the Red Deer area.

Responsibilities:

  • Test, troubleshoot, and repair transmitters, switches, and control valves.
  • Calibrate and adjust set points on a variety of different instruments.
  • Coordinate with control room to stroke and function test valves and dampers.
  • Install and troubleshoot tubing and air actuated instruments.
  • Observe functioning of installed equipment or systems to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
  • Repair faulty equipment or systems.
  • Understand and practice company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain safe work practices.
  • Other duties as requested by the Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a certified Journeyperson Technician.
  • Experience working on Turnarounds in an operating Petro-Chemical facility.
  • CSTS 2020.
  • Energy Safety Canada Tickets:
  • Fall Protection
  • Confined Space
Compliance with client site Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol testing.

Working Conditions:

  • Working at heights.
  • Working in confined spaces.
  • Working in and around noise and dust.
  • Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions.
  • Must be clean shaven.
  • Personal safety equipment will be required, e.g., steel-toed safety boots.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 lbs. with assistance.
  • Stand or walk for long periods of time.
  • Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects.
  • Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects.
