Are you a skilled Journeyperson and Apprentice Instrumentation Technician with experience in industrial plant maintenance? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team. As an Instrumentation Technician, you will play a vital role in installing electrical systems for our client. This temporary position in Carseland, AB provides pre-work from July to September, Monday through Thursday, totaling 40 hours per week. Starting in early September and running through mid-October, the turnaround work will begin with a schedule yet to be determined, either 12 days on and 2 days off or 6 days on and 1 day off, offering 11 to 12 hours per day. What would you be doing?
  • Install, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain process instrumentation, communication networks, and control equipment, including flow computers, tank gauging systems, custody transfer metering, and associated equipment.
  • Analyze, interpret, and utilize the information in SCADA, LOI displays, and PID drawings to ensure the safe operation of facilities.
  • Support programming and troubleshooting of Local Operator Interfaces and Programmable Logic Controllers.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, and control equipment.
  • Provide Instrumentation support and maintenance to ensure system reliability.
  • Use pneumatic, electrical, and electronic testing devices to inspect and test instrument and system operation and diagnose.
  • Repair, maintain and adjust system components or remove and replace defective parts.
Does this sound like you?
  • Have a Journeyperson or Instrumentation Certificate or an Apprentice Instrumentation card.
  • Valid and up-to-date safety tickets: H2S Alive and Standard First Aid.
  • CSTS, AWP, Fall Protection, TDG, WHMIS, and CSO are assets.
  • Have high regard for personal safety and the safety of company assets and employees.
  • Self-motivated and capable of performing tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle strict deadlines.
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal communication required.
  • Physically capable of performing all necessary duties of the job, including but not limited to heavy pulling, pushing and lifting (up to 50 lbs), climbing, shoveling, bending, twisting, etc.
