Aramark Canada is looking for a Support Services Manager with experience in the areas of Food Services, Housekeeping Services and Laundry Services for an opportunity to service a Healthcare Facility in Red Deer Alberta.

Job Responsibilities

Reporting to the General Manager, the Support Services Manager is responsible for the food and facilities contract at the site and its financial accountability, and compliance with the standards established by Aramark, regulatory agencies and client. Leads departments of all services managed. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other departments to provide a unified experience for patients, residents, visitors, and employees. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. The Manager plans, administers and directs all unit activities related to food and facilities service, including Aramark and client financial accountability, and compliance with the standards established by Aramark, regulatory agencies and client to provide optimal managed services and drive patient and customer satisfaction.
  2. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other departments to provide a unified food service experience for patients, residents, visitors and employees.
  3. Ensures compliance to food safety, sanitation, and overall workplace safety standards.
  4. Interacts with Client Management and maintains effective client and customer relations at all levels of client organization, including conducting rounding. Identifies Aramark service expansion opportunities.
  5. Provides overall direction and manages performance for all Food Service Supervisors and front-line employees, ensuring employee development, engagement and compliance with human resource related policies and standards, including conducting applicable rounding.
  6. Directs, staffs, and trains food service department regarding food presentation, quality, cost control, and cash handling.
  7. Develops operational component forecasts and is able to explain variances. Responsible for component's accounting functions.
  8. Ensures compliance with all contract obligations.

Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in relevant field.
  2. Red Seal chef or experience with oversight of a Food operation would be an asset.
  3. Basic Housekeeping Experience or full EVS experience as an asset.
  4. Menu management, balancing a budget and working within assigned operational costs/budget.
  5. Requires a minimum of 5+ years progressive experience managing operations with financial and operational responsibility for the sites/departments.
  6. Computer savvy with Excel, Word and Outlook.
  7. Ability to communicate (both verbal and written) effectively with clients, customers of the client and support staff.
  8. P&L accountability and/or contract-managed service experience is desirable.
  9. Requires management and leadership skills and the ability to work with confidential employee, client, and Aramark information.
  10. Mandatory background check process is a requirement for all qualified candidates.
