The Opportunity:

Our client, a well known Canadian owned consulting engineering and architecture firm is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer. You will have the opportunity to lead the electrical design on a variety of projects, working closely with clients, suppliers, and internal design teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

What You'll Be Doing:

Leading electrical design efforts on projects of various sizes and complexities.
Coordinating with clients to define project scopes and requirements.
Developing concepts, schematic, and detailed designs for electrical systems, including lighting, power, and controls.
Conducting calculations for electrical service and distribution systems, equipment selection, and compliance with relevant codes and standards.
Overseeing lighting design, including selection and calculations according to industry standards.
Ensuring electrical systems comply with building codes for life safety and resource conservation.
Coordinating drawing documentation and specifications for project bid packages.
Collaborating with authorities and service providers to meet project requirements.
Providing technical analysis, preparing reports, and estimating electrical capital costs.
Conducting site surveys, assessments, and field reviews throughout the construction process.
Coordinating with equipment suppliers, contractors, and other design disciplines.
Providing technical direction and quality assurance for electrical scopes on various projects.
Depending on your interests, this role may also include people leadership and/or business development opportunities.

What You'll Need to Be Successful:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a focus on Electrical Engineering.
10+ years of experience in building electrical systems for industrial, institutional, commercial, and/or healthcare projects.
Licensed member of PEO (P.Eng).
Working knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., OBC, OESC, CSA).
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to think creatively and deliver innovative solutions.
Entrepreneurial spirit with a drive to identify growth opportunities.
Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage budgets and schedules.
Experience leading teams and mentoring junior staff (preferred for leadership roles).
Experience in business development, client acquisition, and proposal preparation (preferred for business development roles).
