In addition, Applied provides engineering, design and systems integration for industrial, fluid power, and flow control applications, as well as customized mechanical, fabricated rubber, fluid power, and flow control shop services.

We are currently seeking and have an immediate opening for a qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of Strategic Accounts - Contract Compliance Manager. The location is flexible to any Applied branch within Canada, however, preference will be given to those located in/around: Toronto, Montreal, Saskatoon, Edmonton, Calgary, or Vancouver.

The individual must be flexible to a hybrid and/or onsite model that will consist of office related duties (roughly 80% of the time), and travel to and from Applied and customer/supplier locations throughout Canada, approximately 20% of the time.

Summary:

Reporting to the Director – Strategic Accounts and working as part of a dynamic team across Canada, the successful individual will play a key role on the strategic account team in all areas of contract execution and compliance of Applied Canada’s strategic accounts, working with both internal and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have an exceptional level of attention to detail, strong mindset for data analytics, the ability to manage multiple priorities and to drive process standardization with a continuous improvement mindset. This is a high-profile position with many opportunities for growth with the opportunity to add value to the organization by thinking strategically and influencing operations within a critical segment of AIT Canada’s business. superior time management and organizational skills will be essential as you manage multiple projects and work on tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Advanced Excel skills are a must as you will work with large volumes of data while analyzing spend, inventory, pricing, incentives, receivables, and other critical elements related to strategic account performance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Managing contractual compliance related to customer spend, incentives, inventory, receivables, pricing, budget, and other key performance indicators at the Strategic Accounts level, ensuring partnership with the Strategic Account Managers for success
  • Data production, assessment and analytics for multiple strategic customers: Focused on management and driving improvement on: sales & margin trends, on-time delivery, Documented Value Add (Total Cost of Ownership) performance, inventory management (committed, consignment, stock outs), Accounts Receivable trends, rebate trends, spend by manufacturer, etc.
  • Assisting Strategic Account Managers in training and implementation of contract compliance functions at the service center level and the customer level in order to influence successful outcomes of SA contract execution
  • Supporting inquiries and information requests both internally (from the service centre level) and externally (from customers) with respect to contract information
  • Compiling, assessing and analyzing results and KPIs related to Strategic Account contracts while articulating trends and identifying improvement opportunities for increased efficiencies, and implementing changes to processes as necessary
  • Preparing reports and support internal and external stakeholder presentations as requested
  • Coaching, training, and mentoring Applied associates who service contractual Strategic Account customers
  • Maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidence as you participate in high level customer and internal meetings, which may include travel
  • Making joint calls with sales on accounts as requested to assist in quality, compliance, and service issues

Preference will be given to candidates who possess the following qualifications:

  • Three years’ experience in the sales, customer service, or operations management arena
  • Bachelor’s degree or business equivalent experience in engineering, business management, IT, finance, or accounting
  • Strong written & verbal communication with the ability to influence both internally and externally through written and verbal communications
  • Exceptional critical thinking, analytical, research and organizational skills; detail oriented and self-directed
  • Strong collaborative skills and demonstrated ability to conduct meetings and to facilitate effective working relationships with internal and external customers
  • Systems experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) is a requirement; as well as MS Project and Power BI are an asset
  • Lean Six Sigma exposure and specialized training in customer service practices and office functions is a plus, preferably SAP based
  • Project Management experience with proven success at managing multiple projects/customers/programs
  • Experience with mechanical & hydraulic parts distribution and Applied’s service center network and operational model is a plus
  • Experience with contracts & legal documents would be an asset; with the ability to understand contractual terms
  • Demonstrated understanding of privacy and confidentiality and an ability to safeguard confidential information in a responsible manner
  • Bilingual: French & English would be an asset
  • A successful candidate will be aggressive, confident, and have the ability to deal with all facets of major customers and suppliers as well as effectively manage internal associates with no direct reporting relationship.

Working Conditions

  • Position has opportunity to be based in an Applied Canada location (above) or work remotely. Physical location must be in ON, QC, MB, SK, AB or BC with proximity within 50km of one of our Applied Canada locations.
  • Occasional travel required within Canada & US

Wages for this role will vary depending on an individual’s experience and skill set, between $70,000 and $100,000/year
