Job Description:

As an Electrical Field Engineer with a focus on construction, you will be instrumental in overseeing and executing electrical aspects of construction projects. Your role will involve managing installations, coordinating with construction teams, and ensuring that electrical systems are integrated seamlessly into various projects. Your expertise will help us maintain the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and quality throughout the construction lifecycle.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Construction Project Support: Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to support the electrical aspects of construction projects from planning through to completion.
  • On-Site Supervision: Oversee and inspect electrical installations on construction sites to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and local electrical codes.
  • System Integration: Ensure proper integration of electrical systems with other building systems, such as HVAC, lighting, and security systems.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve electrical issues that arise during construction, providing solutions that minimize project delays and maintain quality standards.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, including installation records, testing results, and compliance reports.
  • Coordination with Stakeholders: Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, and clients to facilitate smooth coordination of electrical work and address any project-related concerns.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to and enforce safety protocols and procedures to create a safe working environment on construction sites.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Electrical Field Engineer with substantial involvement in construction projects, including experience with electrical installations and system integrations.
  • Certification: Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for certification in Saskatchewan is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, construction practices, and building codes. Experience with electrical testing and diagnostic tools.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with construction teams, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple aspects of electrical work in construction projects, including timelines, resources, and coordination.
  • Problem-Solving: Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues efficiently on construction sites.
  • Safety Awareness: Comprehensive understanding of safety regulations and best practices related to electrical work in a construction environment.
