POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Senior Quantum Engineer, you will play a crucial role in our quantum computing research team, responsible for the design, implementation, and optimization of test and measurement systems for superconducting qubits. Alongside this experience with chip design, circuit design, nanofabrication and other qubit systems are all beneficial. This role offers the opportunity to work on ground-breaking quantum projects, contributing to advancements in quantum computing.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Test and Measurement System Development: Design, develop, and maintain advanced test and measurement systems for superconducting qubits, ensuring high fidelity and accuracy.
  • Experimental Setup: Set up and calibrate experimental systems, including cryogenic environments and control electronics, to enable precise quantum measurements.
  • Data Acquisition and Analysis: Implement data acquisition processes and analysis algorithms to extract meaningful information from quantum experiments, identify trends, and optimize system performance.
  • System Optimization: Continuously improve test and measurement systems for superconducting qubits, incorporating feedback and staying up to date with the latest advancements in quantum technology.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of physicists, engineers, and researchers to drive quantum computing projects forward.
  • Problem Solving: Troubleshoot technical issues, identify areas for improvement, and propose innovative solutions.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • A Ph.D. in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on quantum computing or superconducting qubits.
  • Demonstrated experience in test and measurement of superconducting qubits.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW for data analysis and automation.
  • Hands-on experience with cryogenic systems, RF electronics, and control systems.
  • Experience of chip and/or circuit design is also beneficial.
  • Experience of nanofabrication is an asset.
  • Knowledge of quantum computing principles and quantum algorithms is a plus.
  • Experience in quantum error correction and fault tolerance is a plus.
