Dogtopia of Westmount is looking for energetic, organized, and enthusiastic Dog Daycare Supervisor to join our team, as our current one will be transitioning to maternity leave. This is a key role within our business, and we work hard to deliver top customer service and ensure a great environment for the dogs in our care.

About the Dog Daycare Supervisor Role:

  • This role consists of a thorough understanding and grasp of the positions they oversee: The Canine Coach/Dog Daycare Attendant, The Rover/Runner position, and the training/onboarding of these individuals.
  • The focus of this role is to create a safe and fun environment for each pup.
  • You oversee the Coaches in the playrooms and provide consistent and accurate feedback on how best to interact/engage with the dogs.
  • You will be caring for all furry friends as if they were part of your own family.
  • Maintain control of a large group of dogs in open play.
  • Continuously on your feet, as this is primarily a highly physical job.
  • Address behavioral issues immediately without the use of force or physical punishment.
  • Educate the dogs by teaching them to follow basic commands such as sit, down, stay, etc., that will be a benefit inside and outside of the playroom.
  • Cleaning duties – Keep playroom clean of messes at all times, daily cleaning procedures to maintain a clean and safe environment, follow proper cleaning protocol and use of chemicals to ensure a safe environment for both people and dogs.

Job Qualifications:

  • Must LOVE dogs
  • Must have previously worked with groups of dogs and understand group dynamics.
  • Is a firm believer in positive reinforcement as the way for training dogs.
  • Has a basic understanding of dog body language for Dogtopia to build off of.
  • Approachable as this has the potential to develop into a management role.
  • Ability to work varied schedules including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Position requires standing and walking throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and be physically fit.

  • Professional Dog Care: 1 year (required).
