*The position will be based on a major construction project in Ottawa.

Responsibilities
  1. Study plans and specifications;
  2. Interpret the technical specifications of the tender documents;
  3. Analyze and prepare tender documents;
  4. Discuss the working methods to be applied, parts of the work to be subcontracted, risks and constraints of the call for tenders;
  5. Perform quantity calculations;
  6. Evaluate the costs of materials, labor, and necessary equipment;
  7. Find prices from subcontractors and suppliers;
  8. Establish the work schedule;
  9. Communicate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain file clarifications;
  10. Participate in mandatory visits and/or client meetings for relevant information;
  11. Prepare the review of proposals and ensure that the scope of work is complete.
Requirements
  1. DEC in building estimation, architecture, civil engineering, or the equivalent;
  2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position;
  3. Bilingual (an asset), but proficiency in English language with excellent communication skills (written and verbal) is required;
  4. Secret-level security;
  5. Proficient in MS Office and MS Project software;
  6. Working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, estimating, drawings and specifications, building material and required standards applicable to discipline.
