Responsibilities

  1. Conduct business and market research using the internet, business directories and database resources.
  2. Assist with the preparation of pitch presentations to prospective clients.
  3. Build, update and maintain MS Excel based financial and valuation models.
  4. Assist with data gathering, analysis and writing of Information Memorandas for merger, acquisition and financing transactions.
  5. Apply analytical skills in client data analysis and report development.
  6. Collaborate on cross-functional teams to deliver client service results.
  7. Identify potential sources and the markets in which we compete for potential clients and refer them to the President of Corporate Finance.
  8. Source research mediums applicable to the client business; Internet, industry and government written documentation, interviews with customers and competitors, and information gathered in site visits.
  9. Keep abreast of market trends in order to assess current approaches and compare research results.
  10. Monitor existing approach to research and adapt methods where required.
  11. Assist with the development of qualitative and quantitative analysis resulting from information obtained through research.
  12. Formulate market and industry trends; broad synopsis as well as general conclusions.
  13. Prepare technical based analysis, which may be in the form of projections, forecasts and/or models.
  14. Identify competitive issues and performance indicators on both a macro and micro level specific to the target market.
  15. Produce, design and compile accurate, succinct reports and correspondence.
  16. Assist preparation of internal and external presentations.
  17. Accountable for a highly developed level of customer service ensuring that customer needs and requests are responded to in a timely, accurate and professional manner.

Skills and Experience

  1. Completion of Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study with the ability to prepare and analyze financial statements.
  2. Pursuing or planning to pursue CPA, CFA or CBV.
  3. Experience in a professional services firm an asset.
  4. 1 year experience in financial analysis and modeling is preferred, however this experience is not required.
  5. Flexibility and willingness to travel.
