Responsibilities

  • Conduct business and market research using the internet, business directories and database resources
  • Assist with the preparation of pitch presentations to prospective clients
  • Build, update and maintain MS Excel based financial and valuation models
  • Assist with data gathering, analysis and writing of Information Memorandas for merger, acquisition and financing transactions
  • Apply analytical skills in client data analysis and report development
  • Collaborate on cross-functional teams to deliver client service results
  • Identify potential sources and the markets in which we compete for potential clients and refer them to the President of Corporate Finance
  • Source research mediums applicable to the client business; Internet, industry and government written documentation, interviews with customers and competitors, and information gathered in site visits
  • Keep abreast of market trends in order to assess current approaches and compare research results
  • Monitor existing approach to research and adapt methods where required
  • Assist with the development of qualitative and quantitative analysis resulting from information obtained through research
  • Formulate market and industry trends; broad synopsis as well as general conclusions
  • Prepare technical based analysis, which may be in the form of projections, forecasts and/or models
  • Identify competitive issues and performance indicators on both a macro and micro level specific to the target market
  • Produce, design and compile accurate, succinct reports and correspondence
  • Assist preparation of internal and external presentations
  • Accountable for a highly developed level of customer service ensuring that customer needs and requests are responded to in a timely, accurate and professional manner

Skills and Experience

  • Completion of Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study with the ability to prepare and analyze financial statements
  • Pursuing or planning to pursue CPA, CFA or CBV
  • Experience in a professional services firm an asset
  • 1 year experience in financial analysis and modeling is preferred, however this experience is not required
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel
