Assists in the development and execution of company-wide brand and sponsorship programs that enhance Suncor's visibility and reputation and improve public perception with a broad range of stakeholders in support of external engagement priorities.

Minimum Requirements:

  • University degree or related post-secondary diploma / certificate in Communications, Public Relations, Business, Marketing or associated field preferred
  • 10+ years or more of relevant experience
  • Skilled in event, project, vendor and financial management
  • Knowledge of various communication channels including digital
  • Experience leading and/or implementing unstructured projects to completion within a changing environment
  • Experience collaborating across multiple teams to complete projects and tasks, exhibiting a high degree of diplomacy and problem solving and ability to co-create
  • Background or familiarity with change and reputation management is an asset
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite with strong working knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading Calgary community sponsorships, corporate memberships and company-wide event execution in support of overall communications and marketing strategy
  • Support broader brand marketing and campaign development and execution.
  • Works collaboratively with peers and senior business leaders to deliver strategic and complex solutions based on business priorities
  • Represent the company with external partners, including agency partners and sponsorship properties
  • Effectively solve problems related to program execution and content development in a fluid and dynamic business environment
  • Manage content approvals process, ensuring appropriate leaders are consulted and that there is a high level of collaboration with members from across the team
  • Identify areas for improvements related to marketing and communications, tools and processes and implement where appropriate

Location and other key details:

  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
  • This is an office-based role, hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
