The Director, Radio and Media Relations will oversee the Radio Promotion team to maximize exposure for all priority artists by securing airplay through strategic partner management, and the creation and execution of unique and innovative campaigns and promotions. Reporting to the VP of Marketing, this person will manage a team of five current staff. They will work collaboratively across teams to ensure that radio promotion objectives align with overall company goals, and that there is clear and measurable communication between stakeholders.

Here you’ll be able to:

  • Define and execute the strategy for radio promotions in Canada.
  • Effectively manage in-office and remote team through periodic communication, goal setting, and performance evaluation.
  • Establish, maintain, and grow relationships with senior level executives and radio programmers at key partner channels.
  • Work closely with members of key departments (A&R, Marketing, Publicity) to help identify, develop, and exploit Artist opportunities across radio properties.
  • Work closely with Artist Managers, Agents, and Promoters regarding all aspects of Artist promotion activities.
  • Prepare regular updates outlining priority singles and target stations for Promotion team.
  • Prepare a weekly priority report for members of Warner Music Canada outlining the progress of priority singles.
  • Participate in regular updates with Executive Team, with a focus on radio performance, new opportunities, industry developments, and strategic ideation.

It would be music to our ears if you:

  • Substantial experience and contacts in the music industry in general, and radio/media specifically.
  • Music Industry education or training.
  • Presentation and negotiation skills.
  • People management, with a focus on clearly defined goal setting and tracking.
  • Ability to act with emotional intelligence, business savvy and project management skills to meet team objectives.
  • Proven record of innovating and pushing boundaries within cross-functional teams, crafting unique and engaging campaigns.
  • Ability to work comfortably with analytics, radio tracking, and internal data tools.
  • Understanding of industry trends across radio, technology, and consumer consumption.
  • Bilingual in both English and French, a nice to have.
