Dykstra Financial Management Inc., (DFM), provides Bookkeeping, Controllership, Business Consulting and Tax Services. We dedicate our efforts to meeting our client’s needs by building trust relationships, delivering total quality professional services and developing long term business contacts and affiliations.
We are currently looking for two full-time bookkeepers with the ability to work at a variety of duties to join our team. This is a full-time year-round position.
Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible
Details of this position:
- Permanent, Full time
- 35-40 hours a week Minimum
- $28.50/hour
- 10 vacation days

Job Duties:
- Maintains records of financial transactions by establishing accounts; posting transactions; ensure legal requirements compliance.
- Develops system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts; defining bookkeeping policies and procedures.
- Maintains subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
- Balances subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries.
- Calculate and prepare cheques for payrolls and for utility, tax and other bills
- Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries.
- Balances general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
- Maintains historical records by filing documents.
- Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
- Complete and submit tax remittance forms, workers' compensation forms, pension contribution forms and other government documents;
- Prepare tax returns and perform other personal bookkeeping services;
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year to less than 2 years of work experience in financial management field
- Minimum of post-secondary education in accounting/bookkeeping
- Productively works with others as a team member as well as independently
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
