THIS POSITION IS FOR THE HAMILTON CORPORATE OFFICE

Role Mandate:

The Meat and Seafood Analyst supports all category objectives by undertaking a wide range of administrative and liaison activities on behalf of the Sr. Merchandising Manager & Specialist.

Accountabilities:

Assortment and Promotional Execution:

• Execute and complete new item set-up process
• Execute and complete item discontinuation process
• Execute Category tasks in relation to Vendor Set Up process

• Key all promos into Item Selection Allocation Tool - ISAT (to be replaced with JDA and Ad Folder) and run relevant integrity reports Work with Merchandising team to provide promo planning details
• Execute all ad changes and perform flyer proofing to ensure proper execution at store level - AD integrity

• Collaborate with Planogram resources to communicate or reinforce specific category goals and to ensure that the overall strategy for the category is reflected in planograms

Pricing and Inventory Management:

• Execute cost and retail price changes in templates/systems
• Resolve Store Notifications
• Work with Support Teams (eg. Buying Customer Support (BCS) team, Supply Chain) to resolve inventory issues related to over-ordering, short shipments, distribution of replacement promotional products, additions and deletions (ad change process) as required, Markdowns.
• Action Code Dated items

Vendor Over & Above (O&A) Billings:

• Prepare and Input Regular O&A billings into systems on a weekly basis
• Track O&A’s and follow up with vendors and Business Formats and on auto and manual O&A’s Business Formats and Fortinos Merchandising Team
• Review Vendor Audits
• Reporting for O&A and other Merchandising Team requirements

Reporting and Analysis:

• Run pre-existing departmental reports
• Create ad hoc reports and provide analysis upon request from merchandising management
• Conduct post ad performance analysis
• Review prior week’s performance of Ad promotional sales and overall sales
• Review and action gross profit exception report (FEGP)

• Execute weekly competition checks
• Prepare and send out store communications (store flyer changes, store inventory information, etc).
• Other duties as assigned

Role Requirements:

• Post secondary education or equivalent experience
• Proven ability to contribute to category plans in-line with departmental and overall strategies
• Ability to gather and synthesize customer and market insight
• Good communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and organization skills
• Proficient with MS Office (specifically Excel)
• SAP experience would be an asset
• Previous retail experience is preferred
• Flexibility to work according to the needs of the business including weekends
