Job Description

As a Project Management & Quotations Specialist, you will be responsible for interacting with engineers, contractors, business owners and interpreting project requirements to create quotations and submittal packages using our take off software. You will negotiate with vendors to obtain the best pricing, delivery, and terms of purchase to ensure optimal order fill rates and high levels of customer satisfaction for project material. You will also be required to manage project orders to meet completion deadlines.

Additional duties will include:

  1. Interpret complex information including engineering packages to determine customer requirements and offer solutions that create high levels of customer satisfaction
  2. Create accurate and professional quotations packages from customer specifications/drawings using applicable software
  3. Negotiate pricing and delivery terms with both vendors and customers; expedite orders when required
  4. Create pricing contracts based on accepted quotation to ensure accurate pricing; create ship to accounts
  5. Follow up with customers to ensure orders are filled properly and promptly
  6. Investigate customer and vendor problems; resolve any pricing shortfalls and material returns in a timely manner
  7. Assisting customers at the counter, via phone calls, and on job sites if required
  8. Support the Profit Centre team as an expert in the specifics around projects and product information
  9. Communicate to the Profit Centre Manager, Project Manager and Credit Department any changes in a customer’s business that might cause a credit risk
  10. Perform other tasks as requested by the Profit Centre Manager and Project Manager.

Qualifications

  1. College and/or University degree
  2. A minimum of 1 year of related experience – preferably in the construction industry
  3. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software
  4. Possess a strong work ethic and a high standard of integrity
  5. Ability to develop comprehensive product and product application knowledge
  6. Excellent customer service and sales experience
  7. Strong planning and organizational skills; ability to work under tight timelines and multiple deadlines
  8. Strong written and verbal communication skills to build and maintain effective working relationships with customers, vendors, and teammates
  9. Energetic, self-motivated, and able to work independently
  10. Ability to learn and operate the applicable software system used to process orders
  11. Intermediate math skills
  12. Possess a valid driver’s license

Preferred Skills:

  1. Previous experience with or knowledge of plumbing and building products sold at the Profit Centre
  2. Knowledge of the construction industry
  3. Experience using Trend and Eclipse
  4. Previous sales experience within a wholesale distribution environment
  5. Engineering skills are an asset
