Position Overview

The incumbent is responsible for transportation of patients, assisting with patient care, monitoring established treatment programs, preparing equipment and materials for use, as well as maintaining treatment areas and equipment.

Experience
  • Two years recent relevant demonstrated experience in direct patient care duties required.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Grade 12 education required.
  • Recognized Rehabilitation Assistant Certificate required.
  • Medical terminology desirable.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the Employer policy.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Demonstrated skills in sewing.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to establish good working relationships with department and hospital staff.
  • Uses courtesy, consideration and respect for personal dignity in dealing with patients.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
