We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Payroll and Benefits Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this critical role, you will manage and optimize our payroll processes across North America and internationally, ensuring compliance and excellence in every detail. Your expertise in high-volume, multi-province/state payroll processing, coupled with your ability to navigate complex benefits administration, will be key in supporting our diverse and growing workforce.

This is a hybrid position ( 3x/week in the office) based in Vancouver, BC.

Skills:
  • 3-5 years of experience in US & Canadian payroll
  • Payroll Compliance Certification (PCP)
  • Experience with high volume multi-province or (US) state payroll processing
  • Experience processing payroll in Europe (e.g. UK, Denmark) an asset
  • Previous experience working with HCM and payroll systems (BambooHR & Bluemarble)
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to deal effectively with a wide range of vendors and service providers
  • Responsible for full-cycle payroll for North America and International employees on a semi-monthly and monthly basis
  • Manage and optimize Accounts Payable (AP) processes, including processing invoices, handling vendor payments, and reconciling expenses.
  • Respond to employee inquiries surrounding payroll and benefits
  • Prepare year-end reconciliations and support on the annual audit.
  • Be the master user for the payroll and HCM system, BambooHR
  • Work in tangent with the HR team to administer employee benefit plans and partner with various vendors accordingly
  • Prepare journal entries and month-end reports to support the finance team
  • Benefits billing reconciliation between benefits provider and payroll/HR records
  • Perform reconciliations on government remittances on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • Provide excellent customer service both internally and externally to employees and vendors
  • If desired, responsibilities can expand into other treasury activities such as cash management, FX management and procurement.
