About the role

Join the Commercial Solutions Team and help promote the stability of the housing finance system. As Specialist, Securitization Policy, you will apply a broad range of research and analytical skills to advance enhancements and innovations in CMHC’s mortgage funding programs that include Canada Mortgage Bonds (CMB), National Housing Act Mortgage-Backed Securities (NHA MBS) and the Canadian Covered Bonds programs.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead or contribute to the development of strategies, policies and risk management techniques for CMHC’s Mortgage funding activities.
  • Research and scan capital market developments and provide advice and recommendations on assessed impacts and opportunities for our mortgage funding programs.
  • Monitor the efficacy of strategies and policies and develop mechanisms to measure results.
  • Prepare briefing and communications materials for various internal and external audiences.
  • Provide policy interpretation and advice on CMHC’s mortgage funding programs.
  • Provide input into the development and implementation of strategies and risk management practices.

What you should have:

  • An Undergraduate degree in business, economics or finance
  • A minimum of five years of experience in capital markets, preferably in securitization products.
  • Demonstrated experience developing strategies and policies that align program objectives with risk appetites.
  • Experience developing briefing and presentation materials to support decision making.
  • Knowledge of Bloomberg, Power BI or other financial tools.

It would be great if you also had:

  • A professional accreditation in the securities field (Chartered FinancialAnalyst, Financial Risk Manager) or an accounting designation (CPA).
