We’re looking to hire our first-ever Director, Data & Insights to lead our data practice here at AgencyAnalytics You’d be a key strategic partner, leveraging technical skills and business knowledge to prepare compelling insights that drive strategic decision-making and strengthen our business performance. To support this, we’re building up a technical data function to support and develop these areas as the company grows and continues to drive efficiency.


You’ll provide strategic direction and technical leadership to the data analytics company-wide, to drive business value and exceptional experiences for our customers and internal users. Data hygiene and integrity are so important, and this is an opportunity to make a high impact in a data-led company


Responsibilities:
  1. Build and manage a high-performing team of data developers, data engineers, data analysts, and BI engineers.
  2. Lead and execute initiatives bringing best practices and state-of-the-art thinking to our data practice.
  3. Define and implement a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
  4. Develop a vision for how data can be used to gain insights and create value, including long-term roadmaps for data projects.
  5. Work closely with product, marketing, and sales teams to ensure our data services meet the highest standards of operational excellence.
  6. Continuously seek ways to improve data processes, tools, and methodologies to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  7. Work with business and product teams to ensure the BI platform empowers reporting and data literacy across the organization.
  8. Drive the vision for business & product analytics to ensure we are always learning and improving through shared best practices and a data analytics “center of excellence.”
  9. Deliver data-driven recommendations and insights clearly and concisely to all levels, including C-Suite stakeholders, across all areas of the organization that contribute to the analysis of strategic leadership priorities.
  10. Explore, define and standardize our business and product KPIs and metrics to provide efficient and meaningful reporting capabilities across the organization.
  11. Build our capabilities and process maturity to improve the integrity and quality of our data assets through data stewardship, validation, and monitoring of our most critical operational reporting.
  12. Development of our organizational approach in leveraging data science to better predict customer value and business outcomes.
  13. Lead the work to build and scale user growth models that drive and inform predictive user growth.
  14. Develop and evolve impact frameworks to help Product Managers prioritize product releases based on impact.
  15. Lead the development of standardized data assets within the data warehouse to help consolidate the collective understanding of our organizational data.
  16. Ensure the effective ownership of business and product analysis tools and the technology stacks and continuously look for ways to improve our toolsets and data analysis.
  17. Foster a community across departments on improving data literacy in our business and product data assets.
Minimum Requirements:
  1. 5+ years of experience leading data analytics teams, preferably leveraging business and product data in a SaaS business model.
  2. Post-secondary degree in computer science, business and/or engineering; MBA or similar an asset.
  3. Advanced knowledge, architecture, and technical skills using common data management tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, R/Python, GCP, Metabase, HubSpot, etc.).
  4. Experience with a combination of the following would be preferred: DataForm, BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift.
  5. Proven experience working with Product, Development, Technology, and Business teams to deliver customer-facing value in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Solid intuitive understanding of data modeling fundamentals, and how they inform data sources and usability and warehouse and pipeline design.
  7. Ability to take initiative, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Strong detail orientation is essential in this role.
