University Health Network (UHN) is looking for an experienced professional to fill the key role of School and Work Transitions Program Counsellor (POGO and AYA) at Princess Margaret Hospital.

The POGO School and Work Transitions Program is a specialized counselling service that supports survivors of childhood cancer and brain tumours who are experiencing difficulties transitioning to school and/or work as a direct result of their disease or treatment. The POGO Transitions Program’s goal is to facilitate a smoother transition from secondary school or from being off school or work to further education or employment.

The AYA Program provides personalized, supportive care related to concerns common to adolescent and young adults with cancer aged 39 and under. These concerns can include fertility, sexual health, body image, mental health, school and work, peer connection, family support and wellness. The goal of the school & work counsellor is to support with resumes, accommodations, scholarship applications, volunteer resources and any education/employment concerns.
