Inventory and Purchasing Specialist

Our client is looking for an Inventory and Purchasing Specialist to join their growing team The position will be responsible for developing and managing key inventory, warehouse and procurement management initiatives while effectively managing stakeholder relationships ensuring the organization secures the necessary resources in a cost-effective and timely manner.

Key Accountabilities Include:

  • Develop and implement strategies, methodologies, tools and techniques for procurement management excellence, effectively managing vendor relationships, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage and coordinate the tracking of quarterly inventory counts within all industrial operating divisions.
  • Manage inventory preparedness for all projects, ensuring loads are packed and properly identified, confirm the return of all items at the end of each project.
  • Develop and manage end-to-end bidding processes, prepare and issue RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
  • Evaluate bids, conduct cost analysis, ensure compliance with technical specifications.
  • Ensure safety compliance requirements are clearly defined in all RFPs, RFQs and other procurement documents.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure the delivery of solutions that support the company's goals and priorities.
  • Track and manage purchase orders, delivery schedules and system reconciliation.
  • Utilize work order system to anticipate product demands, manage purchase orders and monitor inventory levels.

Key Qualifications Include:

  • Post secondary degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, or Supply Chain Management. A combination of education and experience will also be considered.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a procurement/inventory management, strategic sourcing, contract negotiation/management, or supplier performance management.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in developing systems for inventory and procurement management.
  • Able to effectively meet deadlines while managing competing tasks.
  • Strong working knowledge of related software (i.e. MS Office).
  • Proven ability to be a self-starter requiring minimal supervision, while also working closely with internal teams as needed.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
