Job Description

Due to the growth of our business, we have an opening for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience or relevant Engineering experience in a production and manufacturing environment. Product design & manufacturing experience using engineering theory, knowledge and hands-on practice will be an asset.

Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering manager, the successful applicant will assist in the development & analysis of products, materials, processes, or equipment pertaining to the manufacturing of power transformers.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support daily production activities by troubleshooting, collecting, and monitoring data to ensure equipment operation and uptime
  2. Verifying specifications & maintaining product/process documentation
  3. Testing & validating processes, equipment, raw materials, and products
  4. Create SOP’s/Work Instructions for existing, newly designed, or modified products, process, or materials
  5. Perform lean manufacturing, continuous improvement & 5S initiatives as required
  6. Assist in inventing & designing various manufacturing tools and assembly fixtures
  7. Designs and coordinates manufacturing engineering tasks, experiments, and operational procedures
  8. Helps train & guide technicians/operators on new processes and procedures
  9. Research, compile, analyze, report, and test various designs, products, processes, or materials
  10. Maintain compliance to all design requirements and quality standards
Requirements
  1. University degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology / Technologist diploma with relevant work experience
  2. Minimum 2-5 years of related experience is an asset
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficiency with Microsoft products and 3D CAD software
  4. Must be a team player and able to get along with individuals from within the organization
  5. Ability to work independently to support the engineering, maintenance, and production teams
  6. Practical thinking with hands-on experience valued highly
  7. Demonstrated safety first mindset and occasional working at heights required
