Kitting Lead

DCM is a communication solutions partner that adds value for major companies across North America by creating more meaningful connections with their customers. We’re looking for a Kitting Lead who will assist the manager and lead hands by preflighting dockets and producing all shipping labels. This individual will be able to look for efficiencies on the line, problem solve and look for solutions to issues as they arise. Additionally, the Kitting Lead will be able to lead projects and work efficiently within budget.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Staffing

  • Working directly with the lead hands to fulfill kitting needs and determining and arranging for temporary staff
  • Submit timesheets to agencies for all temporary staff
  • Aid in the training of full time and temporary staff
  • Assist with Health & Safety Initiatives, ensuring employees work safely in all aspects of their jobs and adhere to safety rules/guidelines

Production

  • Assist in resolving production issues in accordance with company standards
  • Monitor schedule for new jobs
  • Participate in production meetings regarding new jobs
  • Inform Manager of any major production problems or delays that will impact the delivery date
  • Participate in department meetings before shift to review daily expectations and jobs prior to starting

General

  • Produce all shipping labels, ensuring to correct formatting for supplied files and provide tracking and costing information to Client Services department
  • Ensure the department is kept organized, clean and housekeeping guidelines are followed, reporting any shortages of service items
  • Make sure all equipment is maintained in working order – troubleshoot and arrange for repairs as required
  • Use Microsoft D365 to approve picksheets and flag all time overs to manager and close and RAF dockets as required

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1-3 years experience in a Warehouse Administrator or similar role
  • Familiarity with shipping couriers and freight systems
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel is required
  • Great time management skills and attention to detail
  • Team player and able to work independently
