Our client in the GTA area is looking for multiple Transportation Planners on a fulltime basis. This role is critical in optimizing the overall business performance by providing outstanding logistical support. The Transportation Planner will play a key role in ensuring high levels of satisfaction for both internal and external stakeholders. This position involves close collaboration with third-party logistics (3PL), Customer Service, Supply Chain Planning, and Quality Assurance teams to achieve efficient operations and seamless transportation processes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all transportation-related inquiries, overseeing the daily coordination of both inbound and outbound shipments to ensure smooth and timely delivery.
  • Manage and coordinate international shipments with designated carriers and freight forwarders, facilitating the booking process when necessary to ensure smooth global logistics.
  • Oversee customs clearance procedures, working closely with customs brokers and carriers to resolve any issues that may arise during import/export processes.
  • Handle freight claims related to shipment shortages or damages, ensuring swift resolution and proper documentation.
  • Review and adhere to vendor-specific transportation guidelines, developing customer-centric solutions to logistical challenges that align with business objectives.
  • Audit, verify, and process logistics-related invoices, ensuring accurate billing and identifying cost-saving opportunities.


Skillset:

  • A post-secondary degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Over 7 years of experience in managing transportation and carriers.
  • Experience in handling ocean freight is a valuable asset.
  • Familiarity with managing third-party logistics (3PL) operations.
