DESCRIPTION

This role will be responsible for signing new partners, retaining and strengthening existing partnerships and identifying niche players across key geographic locations. The ideal candidate has a business development or sales background, experience in developing and deploying partner programs and a deep understanding of the automation and/or electrical market.

This role is critical in driving engagement between our solution partners, regional sales teams and customers, ensuring our partners are fully equipped to deliver full solutions and systems, not just component sales. The Solution Partner Manager will be instrumental in setting strategic plans, executing training initiatives, ensuring continuous partner growth and owning the Canadian sales results.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Development & Deployment

  1. Lead the further development, execution and optimization of the Solution Partner Program in Canada.
  2. Establish clear partner tiers, training milestones and engagement strategies to drive partner success.
  3. Develop and implement a Market Development Fund (MDF) strategy to support partner-led marketing and solution initiatives.
  4. Define KPIs and success metrics to measure partner performance and program impact.

Partner Acquisition & Retention

  1. Identify and recruit new Solution Partners in key verticals or segments such as cybersecurity, mining, packaging and food & beverage.
  2. Maintain strong relationships with existing partners, ensuring continued engagement, support and program participation.
  3. Develop partner retention strategies, including ongoing training, certification programs and co-marketing initiatives.
  4. Work closely with sales teams to integrate Solution Partners into the customer engagement process.

Training & Enablement

  1. Establish structured training and certification programs to ensure partners are proficient in Phoenix Contact’s systems, cybersecurity solutions (MGuard), and automation platforms (PLCNext).
  2. Organize technical workshops, webinars and hands-on training sessions for partners.
  3. Ensure partners meet training milestones and technical competency benchmarks.

Market Expansion & Niche Player Identification

  1. Identify niche players in key regions across Canada to expand the reach of Phoenix Contact’s solutions.
  2. Develop localized strategies to ensure Phoenix Contact has a strong partner presence in strategic industries and geographies.
  3. Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to drive regional partner growth initiatives.

Collaboration & Engagement

  1. Act as the main point of contact between Phoenix Contact and Solution Partners, ensuring a seamless and productive partnership.
  2. Work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, technical teams and leadership to align partner strategies with business goals.
  3. Lead quarterly business reviews with partners to assess progress, share best practices and define next steps.

Travel & Partner Engagement

  1. Willingness to travel across Canada to engage with partners, conduct training and attend industry events.
  2. Represent Phoenix Contact at industry conferences, trade shows and partner summits.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  1. Experience in business development, sales or partner program management.
  2. Proven track record of developing, launching and managing successful partner programs.
  3. Strong knowledge of the automation and/or electrical market, including PLCs, industrial networking and control systems.
  4. Experience working with solution-based sales models rather than component sales.
  5. Previous budget, forecast and sales target ownership a must.
  6. Experience using CRM systems for opportunity tracking and pipeline management.
  7. Bilingual in French and English would be an asset.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

  1. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build trust with diverse stakeholders.
  2. Self-motivated, results-driven and skilled in managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  3. Willingness to travel across Canadas to engage with customers, partners and industry events
  4. Strong relationship-building and business development skills.

We are offering an attractive remuneration package, employee benefits and the opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced growing company with dynamic leadership and a history of growth and profitability.
