Position Overview: As a Pastry Cook, you'll craft a variety of delectable treats, ensuring they're not only delicious but also beautifully presented. Your responsibilities include production of different recipes, service and maintaining a clean kitchen.

Responsibilities:

  • By following established standards, prepare a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, bread, etc.
  • Decorate pastries using different icings and toppings to ensure a beautiful and exciting presentation
  • Check quality of material and condition of equipment used for cooking
  • Maintain a clean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 to 2 years experience in pastry production, chef in a gourmet restaurant, hotel or high volume pastry shop
  • Great attention to detail and creativity
  • In-depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation, baking techniques and nutrition
  • Certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, baking or relevant field
  • Bilingual (French & English), both spoken and written is an asset
  • Formal culinary training is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
  • Good ability to adapt and work with team members from different cultures
  • Dynamic, motivated and efficient
  • Holds a food handler training certificate with MAPAQ (recommended)
  • Capable of standing and walking for a long period of time
  • Capable of lifting and carrying loads of up to 25lbs
  • Capable of kneeling, pushing and pulling
  • Comfortable using ladders, stairs and ramps
  • Must have a valid Canadian working visa

Responsibilités:

  • En suivant des normes établies, préparer une grande variété de desserts commes des gâteaux, des biscuits, des tartes, des pains, etc.
  • Décorer les pâtisseries de différents glaçages et de différentes garnitures pour assurer une présentation jolie et attrayante
  • Vérifier la qualité du matériel et l’état de l’équipement utilisés pour cuisiner
  • Guider et motiver les assistants et pâtissiers afin de demeurer efficaces
  • Maintenir un poste de cuisson propre et ordonné, et adhérer aux normes de santé et sécurité

Exigences:

  • Minimum de 1 à 2 années d’expérience en production de pâtisseries, en tant que chef dans un restaurant gastronomique, dans un hôtel ou une pâtisserie à volume élevé
  • Grande créativité et attention aux détails
  • Connaissances approfondies des principes de sanitation, de préparation des aliments, de pâtisserie et de nutrition
  • Certificat en arts culinaires, pâtisserie, boulangerie ou domaine connexe
  • Bilingue (français et anglais), à l’écrit et l’oral (un atout)
  • Formation culinaire formelle préférable, ou une combinaison équivalente d’éducation et d’expérience de travail
  • Aptitude à travailler sous pression dans un environnement dynamique
  • Aptitude à travailler de façon cohérente en équipe
  • Aptitude d’adaptation et à travailler dans un environnement multiculturel
  • Dynamique, motivé et efficace
  • Posséder un certificat de formation MAPAQ en manipulation des aliments
  • Capable de rester debout et de marcher pour de longues périodes
  • Capable de soulever et de transporter des charges allant jusqu’à 25lbs
  • Capable de se mettre à genoux, pousser et tirer
  • Aisance avec des échelles, escaliers et rampes
  • Doit détenir un visa de travail canadien valide
