As an Automation and DevOps Engineer with cybersecurity responsibilities, reporting to the Manager, DevSecOps is responsible for automating and managing cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines while taking ownership of the organization’s cybersecurity at the infrastructure and application levels. You will implement security best practices across the DevOps lifecycle, ensuring systems and data security. Additionally, you will leverage Workato to automate business processes, enhancing collaboration and operational efficiency.


Duties & Responsibilities

Automation & Scripting:

  • Develop and maintain scripts to automate cloud infrastructure management, system provisioning, and operational workflows.
  • Utilize Workato to automate business workflows, connect applications, and optimize processes.
  • Automate CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab to streamline development, testing, and deployment.Cloud Infrastructure Management:
  • Manage and monitor cloud infrastructure on platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Design and implement scalable infrastructure solutions with attention to security, cost efficiency, and performance.
  • Ensure infrastructure follows security best practices, including encryption, access control, and logging.DevOps Practices & CI/CD Integration:
  • Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines, integrating automated testing, deployment, and configuration management.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot pipeline issues, continuously improving the deployment process.


Cybersecurity Ownership:

  • Automate security tasks like patch management, vulnerability scanning, and incident detection.
  • Assess the security posture of cloud environments regularly and ensure compliance with internal security policies and external regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Respond to security incidents and collaborate with stakeholders to mitigate risks.

Workato Automation:

  • Configure and manage Workato automation workflows to streamline business processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Integrate Workato with cloud platforms and applications to reduce manual tasks and enhance team collaboration.

Monitoring & Incident Response:

  • Set up monitoring and alerting systems for both infrastructure and cybersecurity incidents.
  • Lead efforts in incident response, troubleshooting, and remediation of security and operational issues.


Education, Training & Qualifications

  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell.
  • Experience managing cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
  • Strong knowledge of automation tools like Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform, and Workato for business process automation.
  • Hands-on experience with integrating security practices into DevOps workflows.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and familiarity with securing cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
  • Familiarity with monitoring and alerting systems such as Prometheus, Grafana, or CloudWatch.
  • Ability to design and implement security measures independently in the absence of a dedicated cybersecurity team.

Nice to Have:

  • Certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure Solutions Architect, or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
  • Experience with security tools such as Qualys, Nessus, or Splunk for vulnerability management and SIEM integration.
