Position Overview

Under the guidance of the Director, Human Resources, this position provides expertise in the areas of human resources and health and safety. This includes policy and procedure development, performance management, training and development, implementation of programs, and KPI reporting.

Responsibilities
  1. Act as a strategic business partner to the management team, in collaboration with the Director in providing guidance and direction on human resources or health and safety issues project developments.
  2. Create and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable legislative requirements.
  3. Coordinate and oversee the annual performance management and merit program.
  4. Initiate the review period, provide support to managers and supervisors on review completion, and provide feedback to Director of HR on any areas for improvement.
  5. Partner with Directors and Managers to understand training requirements for their departments.
  6. Create training and skills competencies, implement programs, coordinate, and orchestrate external training courses and programs.
  7. Collaborate with the HR team to support recruiting based on workload; assist in job descriptions creation, postings, screening, and interviewing - as required.
  8. Provide support to Director on all HR related projects or programs that require development implementation, provide expertise and recommendations as well as ROI.
  9. Participate in the organizing of, and attendance at, corporate events; job fairs, employee gatherings and/or workshops.
  10. Act as the backup for HR Generalist, as required.
  11. Act as a point of contact in the absence of the Director, to provide guidance and direction.
  12. Provide support to the administration and support department, as required.
  13. Maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
  14. Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with company and department policies, procedures, and standards.
  15. Maintain a positive working relationship with team members and management in a team environment.
Qualifications
  1. Completion of a University degree, preferably in the Human Resources field, or equivalent experience.
  2. Completion of a postgraduate diploma in Human Resources.
  3. Understanding of all legislative requirements; ESA, Human Rights Code, OSHA to be able to develop corporate policies, procedures, and programs.
  4. Intermediate level experience working within Payroll and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
  5. Working within a manufacturing environment is an asset.
  6. Experience managing projects, developing training and implementation across an organization.
