Role Overview


The position, under the direction of the Site Manager, will be providing the day-to-day supervision of the Wastewater Treatment Plant and all ancillary facilities. This role requires an in-depth understanding of potable water treatment systems, sewage treatment systems, regulatory compliance, and environmental protection practices specific to the uranium industry. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that the sites utilities water management systems adhere to strict environmental standards while optimizing efficiency and sustainability. This position requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to environmental protection.


Job Responsibilities

  • Provide input on system requirements during the project design phase, ensuring long-term sustainability and compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of potable water, sewage wastewater treatment facilities, including monitoring, testing, and reporting.
  • Develop and implement operational procedures to maintain system efficiency and environmental compliance.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory reports and any necessary permit applications.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Lead efforts to monitor water quality, including sampling, data collection, and analysis to assess the effectiveness of treatment processes.
  • Supervise a team of waste and potable water treatment operators and technicians, providing technical guidance and support.
  • Develop and implement training programs for operational staff on waste and potable water treatment systems and environmental compliance.


Qualifications


  • Successful completion of a diploma or degree in a water treatment related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in wastewater treatment, with at least two years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Experience in the mining industry, specifically in uranium or other metals/minerals, is highly desirable.
  • Relevant potable water and sewage water treatment certifications are preferred (e.g., Wastewater Operator).
  • Familiarity in wastewater treatment design, operations, and reporting software.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and provide coordination across multiple disciplines.


Location

This position will be based out of the Rook I camp with a two week in/two week out schedule.
