And that’s what we do: our customized sand control solutions allow us to respond quickly to the ever-changing variability of our customers’ vertical and horizontal well operations.
The District Manager is responsible for ensuring safety and environmental compliance, as well as overseeing daily field operations. This role is also responsible for sales and marketing in their respective district, working in concert with Calgary based Account Managers. This position will develop plans for efficient use of equipment and materials, as well as direct activities of field and shop employees.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Undertake sales and marketing for their respective districts, working in tandem with Calgary sales team.
- Liaise with all Calgary staff as required to ensure that resources of staff, tools and equipment are all in place for specific customer needs.
- Confer with customers to gather information needed to solve wellbore problems.
- Develop action plans with field service technicians and customer representatives in field locations.
- Ensure field service technicians are soliciting scope of work, then planning and arriving equipped at a customer site with correct tools for job requirements.
- Co-ordinate the logistics and delivery of products and materials.
- Immediately respond to emergency situations in a calm and organized manner.
- Record job treatment and tool performance data.
- Report all tool and equipment issues to Calgary to ensure tool assembly or performance problems are resolved.
- Ensure field service technicians and shop laborers involved in the repair and operation of Variperm equipment are trained and competent for the scope of work they will perform.
- Ensure shop equipment, vehicles and buildings are regularly maintained and inspected on schedule as per Variperm procedures.
- Work as a team with all Variperm employees to ensure procedures and best practices are being followed.
- Review and complete all paperwork - both administrative, scheduling, and all safety associated records in a timely manner.
- Manage, hire, train, and be responsible for communication, recognition, and discipline of employees.
- Ensure all employees adhere to all relevant legislation, health and safety regulations, and all company policies as set out by Variperm and customers.
- Conduct and participate in training and safety meetings at all levels.
- Downhole tool experience and knowledge required to be successful. Valid driver’s license.
- Required Tickets: H2S, First Aid, WHMIS, TDG and PST and defensive driving.
- Mechanically inclined.
- Stand or walk for long periods of time.
- Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate materials.
- Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs., lift items weighing more than 50 lbs. with assistance from other workers, and/or overhead hoist.
- Ability to work with others in a fast-paced environment to achieve goals.
- Work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Enthusiastic, able to work unsupervised and self-motivated.
- Good physical fitness.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Post secondary education is an asset.
- 5+ years of experience in downhole tool usage required.
- 5+ years of leadership / managerial experience required.
