Technical Support Specialist - Quality Control

Welcome to Chrysos - Where Innovation Meets Mining Excellence.

We are seeking a Technical Support Specialist to join our global Technical Support team, located in Vancouver BC, Canada. Technical Support Specialists provide support to internal teams and external clients in support of our Photon Assay instruments deployed globally. In this role, you will respond to queries, diagnose causes, troubleshoot events, and implement solutions. If you have a university qualification in physics, chemistry, or biology, you may be very interested to apply

Key ResponsibilitiesData Quality
  • Provide office-based monitoring and support of Photon Assay instrument detector testing and installations.
  • Remotely analyze Photon Assay instruments to ensure client expectations for availability, accuracy, and overall performance are met or exceeded.
Client Technical Support
  • Provide timely and accurate responses to client and stakeholder interactions, including analyzing reports, responding to emails, and phone calls to explain how to rectify technical issues.
  • Provide practical assistance in the set-up and commissioning of new instruments as required.
  • Coordinate and lead regular scheduled client and stakeholder meetings.
  • Develop training and education materials.
  • Interact with local and overseas Chrysos staff and clients in support of scheduled and unscheduled events.
  • Utilize existing or developing skills to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Contribute to a culture that values collaboration, technical excellence, and ongoing staff learning and development.
  • Support the development of a strong workplace health and safety culture.

This role is desktop support based with minimal travel requirements, and working hours are rostered to include weekends. Chrysos globally has a hybrid work approach requiring team members to attend the office to continue connectivity with team members.

Who You Are
  • College or university qualification in STEM (math and science preferred) or equivalent industry experience.
  • Data/Information analysis and reporting experience.
  • Demonstrated technical support role experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including collaboration with people from different technical disciplines.
  • Curiosity and willingness to work in a global team environment.
  • Ability to take a methodical approach to problem solving.
  • Experience performing quality assurance in a laboratory environment or performing data or statistical analysis in a laboratory or commercial environment is an asset.
  • Experience with simple scripting, plotting, or programming tools such as Matlab, Python, R, or similar.
  • Familiarity with basic electronics testing and troubleshooting, including use of tools such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and multi-meters.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite.
