Scope:

The Manager, Business Transformation designs, plans, and deploys the improvement strategies, as well as oversees the transformation programs within ACM Operations (Line Maintenance, Airframe Maintenance, and Maintenance Operations Control). This role reports at the Implementation Management Offices (IMO") on progress/risks of the ACM Transformation by proactively working with business unit leaders, BFOs, and process and performance managers across the business units.

Creating a positive and collaborative environment for employees to foster lean thinking, this position will shape the vision for improvement and inspire teams to deliver efficient, cost effective, standardized and sustainable customer-centric solutions that leverage best practices. This position is well-rounded in business process improvement, program management and consultative skills with a strong ability to coach our leaders on organizational effectiveness in support of an inspired, trusting and collaborative culture.

This position reports to the Director, ACM Business Transformation and the candidate should be based either in Montreal or Toronto.

Responsibilities:
  • Accountable to ensure all projects within the assigned transformation programs align with ACM's strategic objectives by collaborating with the business leaders to define the programs' vision and goals.
  • Assigns cross-functional projects to the Manager, Process Optimization in alignment with the program's goals and vision, oversee their performance and help mitigate project risks. Ensure the appropriate lean and improvement approaches are used, and coach employees on the successful application of improvement methods.
  • Ensure BU project assigned to the Manager, Process and Performance are in alignment with the business transformation strategy and priorities. Provide guidance as required.
  • Oversee operational performance and develop cost transformation strategies and program roadmaps for assigned business areas focused on improving performance/productivity and collaboration across ACM business units.
  • Ensure alignment of efforts across various project teams for smooth integration of project plans, schedules and resources to achieve overall program success.
  • Manage and oversee the project plans in Smartsheet under assigned programs,and monitor improvement progress aligned to operational goals and savings/benefits expectations. Provide leaders with visibility on business unit health.
  • Identify and evaluate the anticipated costs of the assigned programs for the upcoming year.
  • Manage and provide visibility to the business leaders on the deliverables, resources, timeline and risk and issues for improvement initiatives to ensure the various projects under the ACM approved programs are delivering the expected value. Ensure interdependencies are clearly understood and initiatives aligned to business priorities.
  • Lead and support the business in preparing their report out at the Implementation Management Offices, facilitate IMO sessions as required.
  • Manage the intake of improvement opportunities, and guide the business unit by providing recommendations, utilizing and incorporating prioritization methods and best practices, to enhance the business unit effectiveness.
  • Oversee approvals through program/initiative life cycle (from opportunities, charter, initiative activities, to post closure evaluations), and address barriers to success.
  • Monitor progress and resource allocation for programs/initiatives, and work with appropriate stakeholders to proactively identify and evaluate risks within the assigned program, implementing mitigation strategies to minimize potential disruptions.
  • Foster the spirit of communication, collaboration and continuous improvement within the organization leveraging new or existing best practices, tools and Operations Excellence methods.
  • Gather business requirements and collaborate with various teams (IT, SP, Finance, etc.) to develop executable roadmaps.
  • Develop and implement the organization maturity development plan and vision of the future leveraging best practices and innovation for operational performance. Aligns programs and initiatives accordingly.
  • Ensure all programs and initiatives have an effective change management /communication plan aligned to the ACM culture vision and AC values.
  • Collaborate with Business Process Managers to ensure process documentation is up to date and accurate.
  • Provide guidance to the business units on lean thinking, project standards and methodology per Operations Excellence processes and PMP Book of Knowledge.
  • Provide support to the Director, Business Transformation, specifically, serves as a sounding board for ideas and transformation strategy development and deployment.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree; Master's Degree an asset or equivalent tenure as Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or PMP.
  • 5+ years demonstrated experience leading multiple improvement initiatives, delivering benefits.
  • Demonstrated expertise in building and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to anticipate and identify potential challenges and develop appropriate solutions.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to influence and persuade others to action.
  • Experience driving process improvement / lean strategies across different functional areas and business processes.
  • Demonstrated capability for inspiring and developing teams for success.
  • Effective organizational skills and an aptitude for managing the pace of change.
  • Strong analytical skills and a passion for delivering results.
  • Work experience across operational branches, engineering, or supply chain is considered an asset.
  • Familiar with statistical software and Statistics, Measurement System Analysis, Control Charts.
  • PC proficiency (Word, Excel, Smartsheet, PowerPoint; Statistical and BPM applications).
  • Able to travel.
