The Manager, Compliance and Integrity Assurance will have a thorough understanding of the workplace, including its processes and risks, and will be responsible for leading work conducive to proactive detection and prevention of compliance and ethics issues.

The Manager, Compliance and Integrity Assurance will lead sensitive investigations, as well as analyses and evaluations in relation to integrity, compliance, and privacy and make sure that they are completed accordingly.

The Manager will provide guidance to employees on the Code of Conduct

They will continuously research, identify, and integrate best practices related to the areas of Privacy, Compliance and Ethics.

They will be accountable for developing and maintain the annual training curriculum and working with the team to develop and deliver training and awareness sessions across the Company.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Integrity, Corporate Compliance and Privacy Leader, the Manager, Compliance and Integrity Assurance will lead and/or support the following activities of the Integrity, Compliance and Privacy team:
  • Lead investigations, evaluations and analyses in relation to integrity, compliance and privacy matters.
  • Accountable for providing substantiated and concise documentation for each investigation, evaluation and analysis.
  • Provide guidance and expert advice to internal departments with post-investigation and analyses remediation efforts, including thorough debrief of root causes, developing practical recommendations and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  • Lead the preliminary assessment of general queries and reports, including reports received on the Ethics Reporting hotline.
  • Lead the research and collection of relevant information from different sources/jurisdictions.
  • Proactively analyze issues by staying aware of changes to applicable rules, regulations, laws and best practices. Propose regular updates to the Integrity, Corporate Compliance and Privacy Leader, on relevant policies and programs, including the development of standards, processes and effective reporting to improve compliance.
  • Establish and implement various key performance indicators to assess effectiveness of the Integrity, Compliance and Privacy programs. Identify improvements areas and lead the implementation of specific corrective measures.
  • Provide guidance to employees up to senior management on queries relating to the Code of Conduct.
  • Lead the development of training and awareness material related to Compliance and Integrity. Accountable for conducting training and awareness sessions to employees across the Company.
  • Liaise with the relevant stakeholders to facilitate proactive detection of compliance and integrity matters and preventive actions.
  • Participate in the preparation of documentation for quarterly or ad-hoc reports as assigned.
Qualifications
  • University degree in Business, Law, Finance or Accounting (or equivalent level of work experience in the areas of workplace investigations, , auditing, compliance)
  • Professional designations relevant to the role. E.g., Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Forensic Investigator (CFI), Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or similar will be an asset.
  • Minimum of 7 years in an internal audit, risk management or compliance management role.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in both French and English
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Proven experience (at least three years) using data analytics and data visualization tools
  • Knowledge of Labour Relations principles (familiarity with Air Canada's Collective Agreements will be an asset)
  • Strong organizational and teamwork skills, including ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to travel occasionally on short notice
Due to the high degree of confidentiality associated with this function, the Manager must be able to apply high professional judgment, handle information with extreme care, must have superior communication skills and absolute discretion at all times.
