Scope:


Reporting to the Manager, 1GX Technology, the Application Analyst’s primary role will be responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting, and building reports for the Client Enterprise Database Archival Service on the Cloudera Data Platform (CDP Public Cloud). You will collaborate closely with end-users, and IT teams to ensure this platform is successfully used by end users. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.


The Application Analyst will provide analysis and recommendations on process improvements and generating reports, and include details of risks, dependencies, business impacts, interdependencies, and implications pertaining to the methodology to be applied on projects. The role serves as a bridge between users and technical teams, ensuring that applications effectively meet business objectives. A proven ability to function on an individual basis and in a team environment is essential.


Duties:

• Develop and maintain technical documentations, user guides, and training materials to support users in using the CDP platform.

• Work with Big Data and Business Intelligence technologies.

• Understanding of CDP Public Cloud Base and Data Services from architecture level.

• Support end user issues from CDP and able to provide temporary/permanent fixes.

• Work on access requests, incidents and change management process using ticketing systems like Service Now.

• Should be able to administer and audit CDP User access and data management from various endpoints/levels like Console, Ranger, Virtual Warehouse, Data Visualization.

• Should be able to migrate applications/data from Development to Production Environments.

• Understanding, troubleshooting and fixing issues encountered in SSSD, Free IPA, Azure IDP.

• Understanding, troubleshooting and fixing issues encountered in HDFS, Yarn, Ranger, Hive, Impala, Sqoop, Hue, Cloudera Data Warehouse, Cloudera Data Visualization.

• Understanding, troubleshooting and fixing issues encountered in Azure Kubernetes Services, Azure Single/Flexible Postgres DB.

• Should be able to manage Azure VM's, Storage Accounts, Private Subnets, Private Endpoints, Cost Explorer, Quotas, Identities/Roles.

• Knowledge of managing RHEL OS, Salt orchestration is essential.

• Build and optimize data warehouses, data lakes, ensuring efficient storage and retrieval system for analytical needs.

• Design and create CDP DataViz dashboards and custom reporting with various data sources and inputs.

• Provide depth and insight to data produced by the various teams and transform them into meaningful analytics for decision making.

• Analyze data and prepare information results.

• Gather and document client requirements.

* Create and provide any training regarding dashboards and reporting.

• Escalate issues and risks, as appropriate.

* Able to translate complex business requirements to technical deliverables ie. design specifications.

* Adhere to SDLC methodologies for development/continuous improvement.


Equipment requirements

• Client will provide access to personal Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)


Resource must provide their own computer and related equipment. The computer's operating system must be a modern version of Windows or MacOS that is compatible with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and related software for remote access. Windows is preferred due to better compatibility. AVD/remote-related software will be installed on the resource's computer.


In the event that the Contractor’s resources are directed to work remotely, the Contractor shall be responsible for providing all of its equipment, including computers, software, printers, supplies, desks, and chairs. However, the Client shall ensure that the Contractor’s resources have the necessary access and credentials to the client’s system.


In the event that, the Contractor’s resources are directed to work in person, the Client shall provide the requisite office space, furniture, and office supplies. However, the Contractor shall continue to be responsible for providing computers and software and the Client shall continue to ensure that the Contractor’s resources have the necessary access and credentials to the client’s system.


The fixed rate quoted must be inclusive of all overhead, office space and equipment, including supplies, administrative burden, mark-up and all other costs to perform the Services for the duration of the Contract.


Working Hours:

• Standard Hours of work are 08:15 – 16:30 MST, Monday through Friday excluding holidays observed by the Client

• Work must be done from within Canada, due to network and data security issues.

• It is anticipated the role will be 100% remote.


Notes on Location:

Resource will work remotely.


Incumbency:

• This is a net new role.


Standard Background check required

• The Supplier shall, prior to commencement of the Services, provide the Client, on its request and at no cost to the Client, with criminal record checks.


Mandatory Training Courses:

• Once hired the resource will be required to complete all mandatory training which includes but not limited to Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and Security awareness training. There may also be some optional courses as well.
