Summary of Position:

Reporting to the Director of Care (DOC), the LPN administers treatments and medications as directed by a physician. The LPN is responsible for the overall well-being of the resident population on their unit.

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Provide leadership and direction to Health Care Aides
  • Provide ongoing assessments of resident’s health status, including vital sign monitoring, behavior monitoring, and care level review assessments
  • Perform nursing care and procedures, administer medications according to specific protocols and policies
  • Participate in admissions, discharges, and transfers of residents according to operating policies and procedures
  • Contribute to the development and ongoing changes to the individualized plan of care

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Graduate of a recognized school of Nursing
  • Current registration with BCCNP
  • Demonstrated clinical competence, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
  • Leadership skills and ability to facilitate team building, change and resource management
  • Well-developed analytical, judgment, decision-making, and conflict resolution abilities
  • Strong competency with operating computers and health-related technology
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment

Please note: *A criminal record check is required pursuant to the Criminal Records Review Act for working with vulnerable seniors. TB tests are also required.
